Better Together: Serving Our Neighbors

At St. Matthew, we believe that faith is put into practice through service. By partnering with local organizations and regional ministries, we are able to reach further and care deeper for the community we call home.

Pillars, Inc. - Supporting Those Facing Homelessness

We believe everyone deserves a place of safety. St. Matthew partners with Pillars to provide a day resource center for adults navigating homelessness. Together, we work to provide not just a roof, but the dignity and support needed to find a path forward.

The Hope Center - A Place for Healing

The Hope Center - A Place for Healing

The Hope Center is a vital resource for our neighbors dealing with the complexities of grief, hunger, and loneliness. Through this partnership, we offer a network of support for individuals looking for a fresh start and a supportive community.

Apple Valley Food Pantry - Feeding the Fox Valley

As part of WELS United, we support the Apple Valley Food Pantry. No one in our community should have to worry about their next meal, and through collective donations and volunteer hours, we help stock the shelves for families in need.

WELS United

WELS United

WELS United is a group of congregations located in the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin that belong to the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. We share a common faith and a common goal of reaching out to all people with the gospel. We have joined together to be able to accomplish things that we could not do on our own. Our prayer is that, through this cooperation, we can better serve the people of our congregations and our community.

Community Focus: Our Neighbors

Community Focus: Our Neighbors

Our focus extends beyond our four walls to our neighbors, our members, and anyone who can benefit from the grace found at St. Matthew.

We believe in serving the Fox Valley through both spiritual and charitable efforts. Throughout the year, we host events designed to bring people together and provide a "Refuge of Hope" in practical ways:

  • Winterfest: A seasonal celebration for local families.

  • Summer Block Party: Building community through food, fun, and fellowship.

  • Free Gift Wrapping: Spreading Christmas cheer and easing the holiday stress for our neighbors.

Get Involved

The work we do with our partners is only possible because of the hearts and hands of our congregation. Whether you have an hour a month or a day a week, there is a place for you to serve.

  • Volunteer: Help out at a community event or at one of our partner locations.

  • Donate: Support our food drives and charitable collections.

  • Connect: Let us know if you see a need in our neighborhood that we can help fill.
